In 1977, two Voyager spacecraft left Earth carrying a gold-plated record. On it: music, the sounds of whales, greetings in many languages, and the brainwaves of a woman recorded while thinking of love. Pulsars on the cover mark Earth's location. They are now sailing into interstellar space at 17 km/s, speaking for humanity: we were here.
